Leopold (Leo)
Leopard Appaloosa Miniature Horse
We refer to beautiful Leo as our 'Zen Master'. Leo is a gorgeous Leopard Appaloosa. He came from a Mississippi kill pen where he had been kept in a pig crate. Due to this, Leo has a condition known as locking stifle. This condition affects the stifle joint which includes the kneecap and ligaments and is the most complex joint in the horse. Leo's hind legs 'lock up' every now and then.
With supplements and exercise, Leo is doing well and has walked in several parades including the ten miles of the 2018 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
Leo is a favorite with both adults and children! He loves hugs and truly has a gift of connecting with the energy of humans. He is our mini herd leader!
