Meet Malibu

Hello my people! I am Malibu a Pony of America mare born in 2010. My favorite treats are peppermints. I have been working with TTRC since 2022 and just love my job.

Before TTRC I had an awesome little girl that loved to take me on trails and to run barrels. We both just loved to run! Then life got busy for my little girl, and I didn’t see her very much anymore. My family knew I wasn’t the kind of pony that could just hang around and stay out of trouble as they looked for a new home for me that could benefit from my awesome talents.

Coming to TTRC I was a little confused. I thought everyone wanted to run and play. Here at TTRC we had a lot of littles that wanted to just walk and practice their riding skills. I went through a transition period where I would rear and toss my head as I just didn’t understand all this calm walking stuff. Some of the older kids would let me run but most wanted to just walk on the trail. Then something changed my perspective. As I learned to stay calm and work at the walk, I started noticing something different in my riders. Some started with little to no balance and after our rides they were getting stronger and sitting taller!

Then I did something I’ve never done before. I started riding with kiddos getting out of these chairs with two big wheels. That was the best thing I’ve experienced in all my life. I love running fast but helping these new kiddos getting out of those chairs and onto the trail where their chairs couldn’t go was an amazing experience.

Now I work with kiddos to help change their lives and some like to run fast and do barrels like I do! But I think the best is helping those kids that need me to grow stronger and some are even able to leave those chairs with wheels behind and walk with their own legs because of working with me!
